Rev. Franklin D. Callaway is the senior pastor of Truevine Missionary Baptist Church. He holds a Master of Divinity from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas, a Bachelor of Arts in Christianity and Speech from Houston Baptist University in Houston, Texas, and has studied sociology and religion at Texas Christian University in Ft. Worth, Texas. His ministry experience includes serving as Minister of Christian Education at Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church in Houston, Interim Pastor at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Minister of Christian Education and Evangelism at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church in Houston, Professor and Chairman of Ministry Skills Department at the College of Biblical Studies Houston, Director of Ministry of Damascus Road in Houston, and Associate Minister at Mount Zion Baptist Church in Fort Worth.

Pastor Callaway is married to the former Barbara Gail Smith and they have two children, an adult son, Lloyd Franklin Callaway, and a daughter, Leigh Anna Callaway, age 13. Often stifled by the crippling disease rheumatoid arthritis, he stands as a celestial traffic cop seeking to direct God's people to the safety of His Son Jesus Christ. When he is not at work in the fields of our Lord, he rests and un-winds by maintaining his beloved garden, fishing, and reading.

The Executive Committee

Deacon Elter Lewis leads the board of deacons in their responsibility to minister to the needs of church members and offers support to the Pastor. Deacon Lewis joined the Truevine Family in 1990. He became a Deacon in 1997 and Chair of the Deacons' Ministry in 2000. He is married to the lovely Ethel Lewis with whom he has two daughters, Tasha and Kim.

Brother Kevin Traylor leads the trustees in their responsibilities overseeing the management of the material assets of the church. The Trustees' Ministry acts as representatives of the congregation in overseeing the purchase, sale or mortgaging of the property, as well as overseeing the management of all legal obligations of the church. Brother Traylor joined the Truevine Family at the age of 10. He was the first recipient of the BF Clark Scholarship which helped him to pursue his degree from Stephen F. Austin University. Kevin, along with his wife Staci, have two boys, Jeremy and Kristopher.

Brother Averiest Gilliam is responsible for managing the business, financial and daily operations of the church in accordance with the Christian principles and objectives of the Church. Brother Gilliam is a lifelong member of Truevine Missionary Baptist Church. He grew up just a few short blocks from the Church and credits the church with keeping him on the right track. Avereist is married to Nancy and has two sons, LaRon and Demetrich. LaRon and Demetrich are the fifth generation of the Gilliam family to become members of Truevine.
