READING AND MATH IMPROVEMENT SESSIONS

Purpose:
  • To create learning opportunities whereby each learner maximizes his/her abilities to succeed academically and socially while becoming productive lifelong learners
Goals and Objectives:
  • To improve student achievement in reading, writing, and math
  • To evaluate/assess student effectiveness in each core subject
  • To develop high performing learning abilities and skills
  • To improve the success rate in each focused area of TAKS
  • To increase learners’ confidence in learning abilities
  • To cultivate a collaboration culture with teams of educators
  • To remain committed to meeting the needs of each learning style represented (auditory, visual, kinesthetic, etc.)
  • To integrate various learning techniques for dyslexic, fundamental, and under-achieving learners
  • To analyze, understand, and deconstruct test results
  • To communicate with and encourage parents/guardians’ involvement
  • To practice principles of fairness and equity
  • To monitor students’ progress
  • To develop independent and responsible learners
  • To advance each learner at least one to two grade levels of current grade level
